Dollar and Unit Gains for Floral to Start Off the Year
Retail floral sales in the latest four and 52 weeks
Sales for the four weeks ending the January 26th came in just under $410 million. While far less than the prior quad-week that included the sales for the end-of-year holidays, this represented a gain in both dollars and units.
Unit sales increased by 1.0%, generating total unit sales of 38.8 million in the four January weeks. Growth in dollars averaged 3.6%, boosted by mild inflation.
The full-year view reflects sales of $9.5 billion, with a nice increase of 4.3% year-on-year. Units also remained in the plus in the 52-week view, at +1.1%. In 2025, the timing between Valentine’s Day and Easter will be an additional three weeks, which is a big opportunity for additional trips and sales.
