IFPA has continued to monitor the situation regarding requirements for all persons, including truck drivers, to be fully vaccinated if they are transporting goods across the U.S.-Canadian border. While regulations were put in place for cross-border travel last year, exemptions were put in place for essential workers, including those delivering fresh produce. However, as of January 15, 2022, all persons, regardless of the nature of their travel to Canada will be required to show proof of vaccination. Despite continuing challenges to the global supply chain, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has indicated that he will push forward with the vaccine requirement for all persons.
