The International Fresh Produce Association (IFPA) welcomes Chairman G.T. Thompson's introduction of the Securing Agriculture's Workforce Act to address the agricultural labor challenges facing America’s farmers and food supply chain.
For years, specialty crop growers have faced mounting workforce shortages that threaten the availability and affordability of fresh fruits and vegetables across the country. A reliable agricultural workforce that gives growers using H-2A more certainty and expands access to more sectors of agriculture is essential to keeping the produce industry strong and ensuring Americans can continue to put healthy food on the table.
We appreciate Chairman Thompson's continued leadership in recognizing the urgent need for long-term solutions that reflect the realities of modern agriculture.
IFPA looks forward to working with Congress and the Administration to advance practical, bipartisan solutions like the Securing Agriculture's Workforce Act that give growers greater certainty, strengthen workforce stability across industries, and support a more resilient food system.
